Yes you do! Now is the perfect time to start lots of veggies indoors.
You don't even have to start cukes and zukes indoors, they do fine if you wait until after frost and plant them outside. They (and melons) are fun to start inside tho, just be extra careful with their root ball when transplanting oudoors....they don't take well to being jostled.
Tomatoes and peppers are fine started 6-8 weeks ahead of outdoor transplanting time. Many people start them earlier, but it's not neccessary.
Eggplants are 8-10 weeks so they are okay too.
The only thing I can think of that it's getting too late for are onion seeds...and yet I am going to start some today :) The worst thing that could happen is they won't get as big as they could if started earlier.

I think the timing is pretty good for our area, I plan on starting a few vegetables this weekend as well. I agree with SOS about the cucumbers and zuchinni, they do great planted directly outside, but it would be fun to do both and see which has the best result.

I have actually planted Tomatoe seeds in Dubuque, the same day as planting 12" Tomatoe plants in the garden after the last frost and got fruit the same time, and the same size plants. But I admitt planting indoors gives me something to do in March with the kids.

Berryman, We had a Master Gardener at the State Fair tell us that same thing about tomatoes. He put seeds in the ground under a milk jug cloche in the spring, and by August he said you couldn't tell the difference between them and the ones put out as plants. I'm going to have to try it this year!
