I've had good luck taking cuttings from my passion vine. I have the blue variety. This winter I left one of them out and mulched it to see if it would survive. The jury is still out on that. When the weather warms up maybe we can work out a trade. I have some well rooted cuttings. Leah

I had a passionflower vine survive the winter of 2001-2002 in a protected place. Not this winter, of course, but it was nice to see the possibility exists some winters. This year, "Tuscan Blue" rosemary survived, tucked up against the foundation of the house and facing southeast.

Passionflower seeds are available at some garden centers. I've seen them twice this spring (can't remember where).

i had one live 2 yrs outside but not sure it did this yr THey do revive LATE . like rose of sharon bushes you think they are dead but then oops, they arent.call some green houses, many times theyll carry them as annuals..and they grow so fast they are worth it.

my passion vine did come up again last summerand its got runners, so in 2004 if any ones looking ill have strts of the hardy passion vine..

Passiflora incarnata is the hardiest of all...

There's a gardner in walcott, Ia I met a few summers ago and she has one planted right next to her front steps and her house faces north-west (coldest wind direction)...anyways her's is many many many years old and in fact produces fruit not to mention the millions and millions of seedlings that lodge themselves everywhere else in her yard.....It is truely spectacular! I wouldn't be surprised is hers is over 10 years old.
