Noooo! :(

Some of my peppers are wilting after last night and I don't know if they're going to make it... *sigh*, I hate hardening of plants....

I'm going to move them and a couple tomatoes that are showing stress-purple in their leaves back into my LED grow chamber. Which means they'll have to start over with hardening later, if they even survive :P My other plants don't look as burned, including other peppers and tomatoes -- I'm guessing that the location they were in was too exposed to the cold or wind or something.

I always harden mine, but it involves a lot of moving - out in the morning and back inside at night for the first week; then I let them stay out all night if it's not too chilly, and I'd say 40º is a bit on the cool side. I also try to put them in the shade of a shrub for the first day or two if it is sunny.

I ended up not moving them back inside... I just gave them a bit of a windbreak, and last night I gave them a 40W "night light" for a little extra heat (and I'm sure they didn't mind the light). I'm not sure any of them are dead, but some are definitely showing signs of stress. I just don't want to have to start over with the hardening.

Probably started hardening them off too early, but they were just getting too big for my grow chambers.

Just started hardening off some of my plants this week. I'm not hardening off the peppers yet. Maybe next week. I also bring them back in at night and put them out in the morning. Start them off in the shade then slowly let them get some more sun. Remember to keep them watered, it seems with the wind and sun that they certainly dry out sooner and can lead to droopy leaves.

I just put the lion's share of my plants in the ground today. They're looking quite happy. I was worried for a while, but I think they're going to do fine. :)

And I have spare plants, too. :)
