1. Is a hybrid by Ray Morgan called Magenta Prince. The parents are Impatiens bicaudata and a undiscribed species, both are from Madagascar.
2. Is I. platypetala from the Celebs. This is a neat pumkins color. This one is not to enter the trade. It is a very nice plant though. Gets to be about two and a half ft tall.
3. This one was discussed in the yahoo Impatiens group. It is Impatiens morsei "Velvetia" from Southern China near the Viet nam boarder, I believe. I can never get my plants to grow that well. It lives in lime stone hills so that should give me some clue about its growth.It also sets seed easily.
4. This is another form of I. platypetala. This one will be ok to release I think. This one came to me as aurantiaca which is from the Celebs. The color is said to be salmon-orange which I think is more like #2. I have seen a pic of what is said to be aurantiaca in the NG Impatiens Ball book and it looked true yellow, I was told this was more than likely a trick of the film and not the true color. I was also told that they dont know where the picture came from because is wasnt in the collection.
