We just moved into our house in December and I had no idea this brown stump of 4" twigs was a hydrangea, so I'm super excited! (I picked a stem off and took it into work and my co-workers told me it's a hydrangea, plus I googled some pictures).

My confusion is that upon closer inspection tonight It looks like some leaves are like an annabelle and some look like an oakleaf. I have no idea what the blooms are and I'm hoping it either a mophead or an annabelle so there's a chance I might get some blooms this year and be able to ID it.

but is there a logical reason that I might have 2 totally leaves on the same plant?
