Anyone in N IA growing oak leaf hydrangea, viburnums?

Do oak leaved hydrangeas grow in the N Iowa area? If so, under what conditions do they thrive and are they reliably hardy every year? Also, do any of you grow nice viburnums or viburnum shrubs in full sun in a somewhat dry sunny location, or as a hedge? Can you recommend any shrubs which are under six foot for a sunny dryish hedge planting? Thanks for any info you may have experience with here.

Well, I'm in East Central Iowa and I got a 12 inch stick in a secret trade a few years ago that was labeled "oak leaf hydrangea." Well I planted it by the garage on the West side of the house. It has not yet bloomed, but is probably 8 feet tall now. I have done nothing special with it at all.

I also have some questions regarding whether or not I can move it into a little more shade without killing it. Also, does anyone know if it needs to be pruned, and if so how?
