Hydrangeas and vibernums are the first that come to mind. There are many varieties of each in different varieties and heights. I think the best thing to do is to decide how tall you want them to be and then talk to someone at a nursery to get advice on which variety would suit your house best. If you can, take a picture of your house to show their staff.

A piece of advice (and I'm not the only person who will tell you this): Find a shrub with foliage you really like. A big plus if it looks good in the winter too.

If it just happens to have pretty blooms, then great! But don't buy plants, ESPECIALLY shrubs, on blooms alone...

Any shrubs you plant there will likely be the backbone of your landscape, so you are much better off if you figure out a general plan for your entire yard before you purchase those shrubs.
