Hi Jen,

I just happened to have these deep purple Bearded Irises but I don't know its real name. If anybody knows, please help ID my plant. I am not sure if they are as big as you saw those Iris at the antique store.

it is hard to tell from the picture - I am inclined to think that the flowers on the one I saw had very deep waved ruffles on the bottom petals. i stopped back at the store today but it was closed, and there is no way to get to the back garden from anywhere but inside the store...I will try again tomorrow and take some photos, then we can compare! Thanks for your help.

Assuming these are tall bearded iris there are 2 popular dark purples: Titan's Glory & Dusky Challenger. It's impossible to guess as even with a photo there are hundreds.

Hi - it's been raining, hailing and windy non-stop for a couple of days. The stalks were falling over so I brought the flowers in to save its life from the rain. I hope you can see better these taken against a white wall. I would like to see those you saw at the antique shop. Iris gal - Thanks for the names - from here I can trace it back and compare.

hocasati,

There are so many "blacks". Anvil of Darkness is one that resembles your photos. If you look at Daves G_____ for ones whose name begins with black you'll see a portion of them. Good luck.
