IPM is a concept incorporating ALL methods of pest/disease control in the growing and care of PLANTS/CROPS whether in the garden on the farm or in the greenhouse, etc., ...not really the forum for house mice ??? LOL....however I'll answer anyways cause I get them too and know what a pain it is! Living next to a wheat field I'm almost doomed but I've found ways to control. Mid fall when weather begins to cool I start by clipping bunches of leaves and flower heads from my Garden Tansy (Common Tansy) as well as bunches of mint. I throw sprigs of this under cabnits, sinks, lower kitchen drawers, etc. They don't like the pungent smells. If some get in before I do that, my female Coydog (Coyote X) goes to work...I've never had a better mouser! However if need be and you cant do any of the above, killing them in traps, etc. may be the only option you have...Mice are carriers of disease. If they are Deer Mice you REALLY don't want them nesting in/around your home as they are known to carry Hantavirus..which can caue a major repitory disease in humans. They also can cause major damage to insulation, wires (fire hazard)etc.
I'm not big on killing, but safety first if ya know what I mean.
