What grace a Japanese Maple in winter can bring to such a place. Great pictures. It makes me want to be there.

The Zen Center at Muir Beach is beautiful all year round.
If you ever travel to Northern California I highly recommend that you visit it along with several other beautiful sites that are near by such as Muir Woods ( giant redwood trees ) Muir Beach ( just beyond the large vegetable garden ), and the small beach town of Stinson Beach few miles down the road..

As you enter down into the deep ravine where Green Gulch Zen Center is located you are immediately consumed by the pungent smell of Eucalyptus .
As you walk down the dirt path , past the guest house, the heavy scent of Eucalytus trees blend in with the heady smells of Redwood trees.
A little further down the path there is a grove of Acacias that momentarily take over then the pungent solitary smell of Eucalyptus takes over again.
It is a delightful walk from the parking area down to the main grounds where the Zendo, Library, Tea House , Office, Dorms and Kitchen are located.
