I don't think that's a problem. Most systems are designed to leave a small amount of solution at the bottom. The reason there is that in the event the pump fails, there is still some solution to support the plants. Besides, in the DWC (bubbler), the roots of the plants are continuously soaked and they do very well.

Ya, I have about a dozen DWC's I was just curious about the leftover in the tray, Dident think it would be a problem but my tray only floods twice a day and im always watching for alge problems.

Having a small amount of residual nutrient solution in an ebb and flow (= flood and drain) system will not hurt.
All that is needed is to have sufficient growing media for the plant to grow in. For example, do not try to grow long carrots in a 4 inch diameter pipe.

I have never grown Calla lillies hydroponically, but they should grow if you can meet their needs for nutrient.
