Dutch Iris and Ice Storm

15 years ago

Can anyone please tell me if Dutch Iris (1200) planted Nov 2010 - so have lots of growth - which are currently frozen / covered in Ice and will probably remain that way till tomorrow (Thurs 10th Feb) temps are in the mid 20's here in Sth texas - are they history? or possibly may still survive and flower. I'm not feeling any flower buds down low.

Any insight greatly appreciated

Cheers - Kim

Kim,

Please keep us posted on what happens.

I'm hoping your're in luck since the buds are not showing.

I'd keep up hope;
Dutch iris are more cold-hardy than so many of our other "Texas" plants that I think they have a good chance.

not to worry, they should be fine. dutch iris survive our zone 5 winters with no problem. right now we have about half a foot of snow, but it's melting away now. it's less than 5 weeks till spring, so you should be seeing them blooming soon.
