I got that EC meter and it works well too. They all just measure the water resistance though. Even if you just use salt you get a good reading. But it certainly helps. I forgot what I paid. I think it was below $10

You can search eBay for EC or TDS meter.

The Blue truncheon meter sells for $150 the nutrient meter you show is about $11 so there is a difference in the readings and accuracy, between the one I have , the blue truncheon and the one you show.

I think either one is fine. Higher price doesn't mean automatically higher accuracy. Both measure the waters electrical resistance, which is a very basic measurement.

Mine however can't be really used a stirrer and just shows PPM. I believe yours also shows EC and CF.

Thank you buckstarchaser you are correct price does not always give you the best results .
I am happy with my PH Stick meter and my EC stick meter as they are both water proof plus they are long and I can read the results along the stem very easily and yes I can stir my nutrient solution with both.
I do have the small meter like yours but as you become older you want larger easily read meters , so old age has me in its grips.
In Australia we use like the Europeans the EC measurements and not so much the ppm.
