New Seedling

First off I just had my first seedling bloom. WHoo-ray. Second off it bloomed very short like 4" tall, I figure this was caused by the frost we had when it was trying to develope. I can hardly wait for the next bloom to see if maybe it will be normal size. This being my first seedling I did not know what to expect.

Here are pictures of the Pod and Pollen plants these are both historics of which I do not have the names.

As you can see it blooming just above the rizome, I have 3 more seedlings from this cross, can't wait to see what colors the turn out to be.

Might the seed parent be Dauntless?

Ted, isn't it exciting when an iris of your own "creation" first blooms? I like that sunny lemon color.

I've had a few TBs bloom that low when we had big swings from cold to warm or visa versa.

I've got several clumps of iris that look like your seed parent. The lady who gave it to me called it "Rare Wine", but that's not what it is. I agree that it could be "Dauntless".

I have to admit to being a bit jealous that you already have irises blooming. I'm still weeks away (probably) from seeing my first bloom of the season, although I do have a Red-Violet Dwarf Noid that often blooms with the early daffodils.
