Help. Is the butterfly iris (Dietes Vegeta) and the fortnight Iris the same thing? I have some Butterfly Iris from Lowes that I want to plant. I have researched and some sites say to plant them in moist well drained soil while other sites say they like wet soil even soggy. Yet other sites say they will rot if too wet. At this point I am unsure where to put them. They were expensive and I do not want to kill them. I am in Zone 8b-9 with a lot of spring rain. I plan on leaving them in the ground to winter over.
