DWC tomatoes
Tired of pumps that plug up, I've moved everything to DWC. Dutch buckets seemed attractive, and would work in DWC, but I looked for something cheaper. I settled on four gallon, cat litter buckets with hole for six inch mesh basket and drain tube. For tomatoes I built a rack with overhead structure for supports. The result is seen in the accompanying photo. The biggest is a Better Girl that has one and a half inch greens already. The next largest is a Rebelski with half inch fruit and on the ends are Rosé and Dixie Gold. I've got a sunGold ready to go in the middle as soon as the cats empty their current bucket. What do you think? Oh, after the whole thing blew over in one of our Northeasters, I added support guy cables.
