Bearded Iris question

I have some beautiful bearded irises that I inherited several years ago at my home. I think they have probably been in the ground for many years. The first year I was there, they did beautifully, the spears staying green through the summer. The last couple of years, after blooming, they have gotten spots on the leaves, died and were quite unsightly. The rhizomes seem firm and healthy.

They have come up again this year, but I wonder is there anything I can do for them before this happens again, or do they just get diseased after awhile.

Should I just pull them up and replant new ones after this season?
