most iris smell alike there are exceptions the one that comes to my mind is iris pallida which smells like grapes it is pale purple with a small flower heres a photo

I was given this one as a gift years ago. A few years ago I posted a pic to try and find out the name. It was suggested that it might be 'Cardinal'. It is about 4' tall and has a very strong grape smell. Marg

Cardinal is beautiful - dark purples are my favorite. Thank you, Marg.

'Southland Grape' is an older variety that smells good according to hybridizer Walter Moores, and 'Dusky Challenger' smells nice according to Rick Tasco, another hybridizer. I grow 'Recurring Dream' which is a purple-blue, and it smells very nice, reblooms, and has huge flowers. It increases fast too.
