Question - bearded iris...

Last fall, a friend gave me tons of bearded irises - I cleaned them up, trimmed them and made a raised bed for them away from all of my gardens. I didn't know what colors any of them were, so I decided to keep them in the raised bed - thinking they would bloom the following spring.

It is a bit unusual for some of them to start blooming now? I always thought that if planted in the Fall, chances are the following spring they would not bloom...

Anyway, I love the colors and want to put a couple of them where my others are - If I lift and not disturb the actual planting and place it where I want, is that okay? I can't imaging ruining it for bloom next spring, since these blooms I didn't expect until next year.

Was that unusual to get blooms since they were only dug up in October? Thanks so much for any advice. (Irises are a bit confusing to me - don't know why?)
