I'm in zone 7 so bring mine in in the winter. I set it in water in a morning sun window. During the late spring and summer I take outside and set it in a shallow end of my pond. They need a soil slightly acidic and the leaves that come with the blooms can be put in soil and a new plant will grow. Outside, in the ground I would think you could just keep moist and maybe feed with MirAcid.
