Newbie Question

I am new to growing irises. My mom grew lots of them when I was growing up, so I decided to try them and ordered several last fall and planted them. Many of them have been blooming this spring. I am in Austin, Texas. Today I went out to look at them, and I noticed my Beverly Sills had a perfectly round hole through one of the buds and one of the petals on an open bloom. This bloom also has a ragged edge like it has been chewed. I ordered these from Schreiner's. Is this a borer? I thought we did not have those in Texas, although I guess it could have come in on the rhizome. However, I think Schreiner's would be a reputable source. If not a borer, what could it be? Thanks for any advice.
