Problems Revisited -

A few days after I posted the photo of the problems in my iris bed I received the following post . .

"My iris are at peak bloom right now. After bloom, I will have to divide a lot my iris. I will be happy to send you some (tell me the colors you like) when I do so...no payment necessary. We gardeners have to look out for each other."

I was a bit overwhelmed by this. Such a kind and thoughtful thing for a fellow iris lover to do, to email a stranger and offer help when I was truly in a bit of distress.

And I must add, this seems to be the tone of this forum. I have watched you reach out to others, answering many questions, sometimes the same question more than once, discussing problems without rancor, complimenting and encouraging each other. I for one appreciates this and I thank you for this place.

But maybe and just, "maybe" it is the quite, the peace, the beauty and the majesty of the iris that guides us all.

Beautifully expressed, Mr. Toad.

And isn't it just so nice of you to share this with all of us? Thank you to both of you.

This confirms my beliefs that we live in a beautiful world: with all the darkness happening on the planet today, there are still more good people then evil, more beauty then ugliness, more kindness, heart and giving.
Thank you for sharing, Mr. Toad.

Mr. Toad,

Gardening people are a super nice group of people. I visit a couple of forums and have always been overwhelmed by how generous gardeners are.

Last fall I commented on someone's Happenstance iris, asking what kind of pink, etc. I too received an offer for some, free of charge no reciprocation necessary. Long story short, I did see a package until October. The wonderful lady's husband had been ill and she had forgotten to send the package.

I'll have to find her name in my email and touch base with her. Thanks for making me think of her.

I wrote her a thank you note and sent her a check for the postage as she included some Mt. Hood daffodils too!

I commented on some heart-stoppingly beautiful photos with gorgeous iris and other plants. I was offered the iris I loved (no charge) and was sent that iris and two others by that generous gardener.

I feel that people who like to garden truly have an interest in living things and that interest is made better by sharing pictures, experiences and yes, even plants. Planting something, taking care of it and being rewarded with lots of blooms isn't for everyone but it is for me! I love this forum and am so happy that I found it last year. It's great to communicate with others that share the same passion.
