I have never grown this, but I did see some healthy looking ones at our local nursery in pots last weekend that had already bloomed. I figure anything that blooms in a pot must be not too shabby. Are yours in full sun? Sometimes if iris are in too much shade they don't bloom, or if they are too crowded.

That said, some people on this forum have had trouble getting some Dykes winners to perform well for them. I generally have had good luck with iris that have received an award, but I do sometimes shy away from iris that come from growers that are in the south. But I don't know where this iris comes from. I've always wanted to try Starwoman, though. It looks beautiful in photos. I'm hoping someone else will chime in here. Sorry to not be more help.

I looked up the hybridizer, Marky Smith, and she is in Yakima WA. This is on the east side of the Cascades, so it isn't really wet. Also it is further north than Kansas. She could have very different conditions than yours. You never said if you had the iris in a sunny spot or not. Are you moving it to a sunny spot? Maybe it will do better where you are moving it. Conditions couldn't be any more sunny. Also planted in virgin soil.

Maybe it needs old tired out soil. Sometimes I think if iris get too much fertilizer, they don't bloom as well, but focus on growing leaves instead. I like the leaves, but....
