I am setting up an NFT system and have some basic questions.
I will be drilling holes in the channels covers and am trying to determine the best hole size. As far as growing medium, I will either use rockwool cubes or small net cups filled with coir/perlite. Are the bottoms of the grow cubes or net cups supposed to sit on the floor of the channel, or be suspended by the channel covers above the channel floor with only the roots dangling into the fluid stream?
Should the grow cubes or net cups fit snuggly in the cover holes, or should there be some open space to allow for oxygen? I assume if there is too much open space around the cover holes, algae will be a problem.
Would appreciate your advice. Thanks
