Hi Becky,
I dont know what kind they are, but I have that pale yellow one at the top. I know it has to be an older variety cause I collected mine from an old house place far back in the country."i know the owners." The old house place had partially fallen in. So I figure its an heirloom. Wish I knew more and could be more of a help.

Here are a few to consider (not saying any are a match, just maybe):

FLAVESCENS (De Candolle, 1830).
Bright Hour
AUREA (Jacques 1830) TB, M.Y4M.

Does the first one smell like lemons?
If so then it is Flavescens.

No luck from me on the second.

The second iris has a yellower tone to the standards than the picture shows. Someone said they were sending me Indian Chief, but nothing that has bloomed matches that one. So maybe this is the one that was supposed to be Indian Chief. It is very pretty.

Here is a closeup of the yellow iris. I haven't checked the scent but will tomorrow. I think I got this one from irishdescended last year in a trade. Maybe she can help with the scent?

Becky

I detected a faint lemony fragrance, so I am going to label it Flavescens. I would like to hear from Darla to see if she agrees that it smells a little lemony.

Thanks!
Becky

The yellow iris looks just liike Flavescens to me. Aurea is deeper in color.

Becky, Yes I agree with it being flavescens. I also detect a faint lemony fragrance. Nice to put a name to it!
