AIS doesn't show that an iris has ever been registered with that name. If someone gave you an iris with that name, I think it would be difficult to recover.

Sounds like the kind of name indicating where the iris was found.

Iris gal, you're right on the money! I got in touch with the gardner who gave it to me and she said she'd "liberated" it from an overcrowded bed at the Carroll County Farm Museum a decade ago. She also would be glad to return some, if their clump has died.
