Bloom color label

I receive several (60 or more) assorted Iris plants last fall. They wintered well and are now showing their beautiful blooms. How do I label the plant with bloom color so I can transplant it later. I've tried using a twist tie & ID tag around the dry flower stem but wonder how sturdy it will be. Any suggestions from you "seasoned" growers?? Thanks, Cleo

cleo, i use a sharpie and write directly on one or two of the leaves. it shouldn't wear out if you are going to trasplant them within the next month or so.
