overwintering hydrangea cutting

I have rooted a couple hydrangeas and am trying to decide what to do with them this winter. I could overwinter them in pots in my basement under lights so they will keep growing bigger and then plant out in spring. Or I could plant them out now and loose the present leaves and hope there is adequate root system to resprout in the spring. Right now they have only about 4 leaves each but the roots can be seen through a clear 10 oz. cup. Would you suggest getting it in its spot outside now or keep it in 55-60 degree basement under lights? The spot outside is in a protected courtyard with brick around it.
