I thought I posted this, but it's gone. Pity, it was so beautifully written before :)

I love Rip City. It is not a rebloomer, but it has a long bloom period. It can look rather brick red until you hold it against a real brick red, then you can see that it has a hint of violet to it. It appears to be translucent, and sometimes the standards are a bit open, and the falls lean back toward the stem occasionally. Here it is today in my garden:

It's a nice iris that looks great with plants with red foliage. It looks incredible backlit, but my pictures don't really show it well.

That is a lovely iris, love the "different" color it has. Looks beautiful in a clump. I agree with calamity, I wanna come over. I looked at the garden shot & thought, oh my gosh, she has a big poke weed growing before I realized it is a brug :) MUCH nicer than poke. My brugs usually will overwinter if I mulch them good, but we had a really cold winter & they are gone. We really don't have a long enough season for them here anyway, but they are lovely. And is that grapefruit back there? And reblooming iris that REALLY rebloom, I so wanna move to CA

Rip City does look like an excellent iris. Your shaded table/chairs looks just right for iced tea on a hot day.

It sure is pretty. Especially in that 4th picture were it is a big clump. Plus you are so good with color combos. It looks great with those little brick red flowers blooming along side it.
