mine is not automated... i walk out there and turn on a zone for 6 to 8 hours ... and that is based on flow amounts and soil ... IT ONLY TAKES 8 POUNDS OF PRESSURE OFF THE WELL HEAD ... oops ... and i think its something like 1.2 gallons per hour.. per emitter ....

in clay.. the water puddles.. and makes an inverted cone shape.. like a tornado ...

in my sand its more of a tear drop ...

the lines have emitters every 12 inches...

in the given amount of time... the water patterns will finally join up.. so that there is good coverage ... down the entire line

WILL THAT WORK ON A TIMER????

and since it is low flow... i wouldnt be surprised if it isnt less water actually pumped.. as compared to your other type of heads ...

so lesson one.. what type of soil.. and how does water move thru and on it ...

i started with rainbird.. i thought they were bought out by john deere landscapes ... their brochure had a basic tutorial on many of the variables... if there is a link below.. i was able to find it.. before the severe weather hit.. if not. i hit SEND to get you the basics...

PPS: the salesman actually came over... looked over the place ... within 15 mins and left..came back a week later.. and had it all worked out .... it was not expensive .. but for an initial investment .... there is no other way i could have 1500 on pure yellow sand over 3 acres .. and have success ....
