Hello! I'm buying my mother some irises as a gift and I'm not sure what the best would be for this spot.

Northern WI zone 3

They live in the woods on a creek. I thought that she could plant near the water. Very woodsey. Kinda spongey down there though.

Stronger color preferred.

I just started planting German Bearded, but I don't know if they would work in that location or really fit in the woodland setting.
