There are Carouby de Maussane
Amish Snap
Golden Sweet

and several more available in Europe, mostly Switzerland

Thanks Galina

I think I'm going to be trying the amish snap peas. I never heard of those until you mentioned them!

Jim

Galina, have you grown the Carouby de Maussane? I tried growing peas by that name last year as a snow pea, and they were fairly good. But I had some doubt about the purity of the seed that I received; my plants were white-flowered, when my references tell me that it is a purple-flowered variety. The seed came from a seed swap with someone who grows many peas, so a mixup is possible.

Zeedman

yes I have grown them. The are purple flowering. Very large flat pods that taste delicious.

I am afraid there must have been a mix-up with your seed. Just hope the variety you got instead is also nice.

Super Sugar Snap from Renee's garden reached over 8 feet for me this winter. A mid-September planting began producing in late November and kept producing well for about three months with regular picking. I don't know how this would translate into a spring-grown crop, but I'm more than happy with my snap peas this winter.
