Looks like a Historic one to me! Here is a link that might help. There are several that look like that. Valor comes to mind. Hope this helps!

Valor is too purple. This one is olive/brown and maroon with thick yellow beards. I'm thinking Rameses or King Tut.

It looks similar to Dr. Bernice to me.

Indian Chief is a historic old Iris that was often planted "back then", on older homesteads ... and is quite hardy. Many old properties have this Iris growing on them. I found mine on our property when we moved here, and it was identified as being Indian Chief.

Thanks cziga! You just helped me identify one of my NOIDS. It's defintely Indian Chief after seeing your picture. One less nameless iris in my garden!
