How high for bean poles?

I am making some poles for growing beans. Is 7 feet a good height or should I make them 8 feet? I plan to grow about 5 to 6 plants on each pole. I am not making a TP, I am using heavy T posts with a PVC pipe slipped over the posts. The posts stay in the ground and the PVC gets taken off in the winter. No idea how they will work, but read about it so thought I'd give it a try.

7 ft or 8 ft should be fine.
PVC, as is, might be too smooth for the vines to cling and climb. Roughened up, it might work a lot better.

7 or 8 will be fine...If they grow higher you can't reach them so better that they just fall back over the top of the stakes. PVC wouldn't be my choice either...might work but.......they are slick.

Hey how tall are you? I made a 8' bean tower and was so proud of myself. The vines easily reached the top and then, um, I couldn't reach them. Oops.

Make them taller if you are going to leave the beans for seed or dried beans, but if you're picking green beans, only as high as you can reach.
