Are the floors a white or red oak? We are currently renovating our kitchen and I am trying to recreate what you have done here on a slightly smaller scale (15'X12.6')

We are starting our floor refinishing. They are actually white oak and were just sanded. Did you use an oil or water based finish and can you please tell me the sheen? Thank you!,

White Oak takes a stain really well. Have your finisher make a sample for you with a Satin Poly finish, water based.

Thank you, unfortunately when I went to talk to our floor guy today he had already applied a first coat of an oil based poly. I'm not loving the amber color and I really wanted a water based because of the fumes. Would we need to resand the floor at this point to use a water based poly and would you recommend Bona Traffic or something else?.

Bona Traffic is a great product. Satin is very popular.
