It's very beautiful, Riz, and from all I can tell, very vigorous too. It must be those oriental genes. I like the oriental branching habit which you don't see in the asiatics, but since this is a hybrid you're getting it. Tell me did you hybridize this, or is it available somewhere?

Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I'm very impressed with them, which is rare because I tend to steer away from the "typical orange Asiatics".

'Zeus' has thick tepals, dark stems, and secondary buds "branching" that extend the blooming period.

I don't think Orientals possess this quality. I know for sure that the "Orienpets" oriental x trumpet hybrids produce this along with a few trumpet varieties.

I did not hybridize this baby, but I hope to use it as a parent for future breeding work and introduce more lilies like this for people to grow in their gardens.

I'm not sure who's going to carry this variety in the fall, so if you can't find a commercial source, let me know and I'll hook you up with a start.

Yes, they have a faint scent, but nothing like the trumpets or orientals.

You can find Zeus through Buggy Crazy. I just purchased either this one, or the Pink Zeus-can't remember which one I chose, believe it or not! She has great prices and of course, the size is incomparable! I should have my package waiting at my house when I get home from work today (got 9 different bulbs)! It's snowing already, so will have to wait til probably Thanksgiving Day to get them planted! :0) Phyl
