Thank you farmerdill. If you were only going to grow one of each (Snow Pea) (Snap Pea) in Arizona which ones would you chose?

Dwarf Grey Sugar and Sugar Ann will be the easiest to find.

I'm going to try some favas for the areas I don't want to trellis. I just love fresh favas. The trellis will go to good, running English peas that we usually eat raw in the garden.
My husband didn't think he like peas until I practically forced him to taste them raw in the garden. Now he keeps asking me why I'm not growing them, in May!

tracydr on the 17th I planted a 10' row of Fava's just to see what they will do. I know they don't like the heat but I have in a spot with afternoon shade that will have full sun during the winter months. I just need to keep them alive through the summer. Then I think they may produce till I have to pull them up next spring planting season.

Let me know how that goes with the favas. I just found another store carrying them. Food City, of all places! I go there to get cheap meat for the dogs and they have some interesting produce. So, we had fresh shelled favas last week for dinner. Before, I could only find them at Sprouts, about one week a year.

Thank you tracydr. We don't shop at Food City and had no idea they had fresh Fava Beans. I called up the closest one and they confirmed they stock them. I have not had fresh Fava's since I was a kid growing up in Monterey. I will have some before the end of this week though.
