Walmart lilies $1 now

I was pleased to see walmart had some decent bagged lilies with nice prices today:

The bags have multiple bulbs of 1 type but they all come out to $1 ea.

I recommend these:

oriental 'salmon star'. gorgeous in my garden and fragrant

asiatic 'landini' - the darkest asiatic - visitors oooh and aaah over it

asiatic 'centerfold' blooms the same time as 'landini' and I think they look great together.

of course you can get something that's mislabeled there- but all the lilies I bought there last year turned out to be as advertised. You are not going to find these types cheaper. I'm in IL but check out yours if you are interested.

The other day I was in Walmart and they had a bag of 15 L/A mixed hybrid for $9.97 and well as a bag of 5 Royal Sunset L/A Hybrids for $5.97. They also had a bag of 10 Lemon Pixie and White Pixie Asiatic mixed for $9.97. I bought a bag of each because that is a good price. Stan

When I was last there 2 weeks ago the garden section indoors was set up but there was nothing there. I guess IÂll need to go back! I bought Centerfold there last year (late) but have not seen it bloom. Either I was too late or they were too small. I have seen pictures online of Centerfold and Landini together, and it does look nice. I love dark red (or wine): the only thing thatÂs stopped me so far is that most of the pics IÂve seen of Landini show pretty narrow petals. How are they really? I donÂt remember where I put the Centerfold, unfortunately, so adding Landini to it might be a problem.

I got burned on lilies from them a couple years ago and won't risk getting ivory Asiatics again labeled as Regale and Oriental hybrids. I just have no space for lilies with no fragrance!

I understand when you get burned, same happened to me on other things but fortunately not on lilies. I can't grow the Oriental here cause it's to cold so hopefully the ones I did get this year will be as the pkg says. Linnea56, I did get some Landini last year and I know they flowered but I can't remember exactly what they looked like but I do remember that they looked pretty good with the white lilies that were already there. I've been fortunate in my Walmart purchases I guess, other than maybe they've been a little small. A couple of years ago you might say I got burned. I bought a couple of packs of mixed lilies, unnamed, but the picture showed one that looked like citronella, some trumpets, tigers, orientals & asiatics. I bought 2 pk for about $2.50 ea on clearance, 25 lilies to a pk. When I opened the package it was obvious that all but a couple were asiatics. Turned out I got 4 stargazers total & a mix of white & red asiatics. Not what I was hoping for, but for the price who could be upset. They didn't look like much the 1st year, but last year they were gorgeous.
