Peas with meaty pods

My wife just came home from the store yesterday with fresh snap peas and they were delicious. The pods were so thick and meaty I couldn't believe it. I have grow many varieties in my garden but the pods are usually thin compared to these. Does anyone know of a variety that will give me those nice thick pods?
