Got to Menards and buy a roll of concrete reinforcing wire with 6x6 openings. It's strong and lasts for years and years. Wire to metal fence posts and you have a strong trellis that is easy to take apart and move. Also you can make tomato cages with it.

Most hardware stores sell or can obtain galvanized welded wire fencing with 4"x4" openings in rolls of 50 or 100 feet. It's strong, but not very heavy-gauge.

I have tomato cages made out of concrete reinforcing wire, but there's no way with my arthritis that I can deal with a huge roll of that stuff again. Does it come in anything smaller than 100'?

Hmmmm.....I've bought alot of welded wire but it always has had 2"x4" openings. It would be great if I could find the one with 4"x4" openings. I'll check around.

I think cattle panels have 4x4 openings. Welded wire with 4x4 openings would probably not have enough connection points to hold together.

Our local Lowes carrys 4'X6' panels of concrete reinforcing wire with 6"X6" openings. I found it in the area devoted to bags of Quikcrete and related cement supplies, not in the fencing area... Much easier to work with than the heavy rolls and you don't have to try to flatten it. These panels also fit perfectly on the tabs of the heavy duty 6' green garden stakes (which ARE found in the fencing section)
