I don't do much container growing, but a lily bulb is a self contained little unit - it has just about all it needs to grow, bloom and go through its normal cycle of dying back and replenishing itself for the next growing season.

In a container, which hopefully is a good sized one and has good drainage, some periodic watering is fine. Too much or if the soil stays wet, the bulb will turn to mush. You don't say what zone you're in - but if in a cold climate where the container would be unprotected and subject to freeze and thaw cycles, chances are good you'll lose it.

Container growers, can you help and/or correct anything I've written for the OP?

i'm in zone 6b. i watered my bulb yesterday and the soil is still pretty damp. is that a problem? i also bought a full spectrum bulb because where i live the sun won't hit my pot. i'm worried it might not grow. this is my setup now

Shouldn't be as long as it dries out; doesn't look overly wet. Stick your finger in to see if what water you're using is going beyond merely wetting the soil surface. Put a saucer under the pot to avoid any floor damage.

I just don't know enough about indoor culture with use of a full spectrum lamp to be of any help at all. Lilies (lilium) aren't traditionally houseplants.

There are 2 lily groups on Facebook. In one group I have seen people who grow lilies indoors. You might want to check that out.
