Hi,
Many animals and insects are deterred by Garlic. Add a little hot pepper to boot. There are many homemade rabbit/deer repellants on the web that work well which incorporate pepper, eggs and garlic. You can also go to the Home Depot and buy the exact same mixture for 12 bucks which is absurd. Deer are my biggest problem in NJ and this mix has been working for 2 years now without a single bud lost. I also use bloodmeal as a fertilizer and a repellant. It's frustrating, but hang in there. Once you trick them into thinking your lilies stink, they'll leave you alone. The odor is not noticible to you. By using garlic sprays, I get fewer insects which translates into less chance for disease. Are you sure you don't have deer?

Best
