You do have to divide the clumps to have duplicates of the same iris.

However if you germinate the seeds, who knows what will appear? You will have iris never seen before.

sounds good to me, when should I plant the seeds?

PL

Plant these seeds right away.

Do they need to be soaked overnight or otherwise prepared?

THANKS

too_many_pets,
It doesn't hurt to soak overnight.
I don't know what kind of seeds you have, but I soak Tall Bearded iris seeds 3-5 days to rehydrate, these are planted in the fall. Some people just plant and keep moist. Then there are the experimenters who refrigerate to chill for a spell.

petunialover has either siberian, setosa, versicolour or virginica, maybe even louisiana which should be planted right away and not wait until fall.
