Hi There! Eearly this spring i bought an iris that was sold as Iris Japonica...lol. i know that leaves it to be any japanese iris. Obviously the person selling it didnt have any info about it. He told me he got this iris from a private breeders collection, someone famous i assume. anywho.... This iris looks a great deal like Iris Tectorum Variegata'Lace handkercheif except the leaves are green. The leaveds are quite shiny too! its so odd. This iris has a running habit like that of a walking iris. He told me he knew this iris was hardy to zone 7 for sure but didnt know any other capabilities. I live in zone 5 and i wanted to winter one of the plants outside and see if it came back in the spring while i took the other pot indoors to winter over. I wish i could have taken a picture of the flowers but like i said they are like lace handkercheif. ( white with yellow and purple) does anyone know what species this iris is? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks! melissa
