The only fix is to find cultivars that are as vigorous as your "blue", which overruns your other colors. They were weaker growers.

You have to keep the colors separated. The early and vigorous growers shade out the other colors and they die, leaving the vigorous ones to take over. I keep at least three feet between the clumps, but I still lost Starship Enterprise and Impressionist because others were better growers and stole their sun and nutrients. Even a tiny bit of a rhizome of a vigorous one will take over within two years here.

Wouldn't mind a prolific iris for a border along a chainlink fence that borders a neighbors less than desirable yard full of stuff.
