Neither of the above is highly productive. Here are a few bean varieties to think about.

Jacobs Cattle - bush bean, moderate production,decent eating bean.
Goose - This old pole bean makes a decent dry bean as well as nice shellies.
Turkey Craw - This is another nice old pole bean with lots of potential as a dry bean.
Super Marconi - This black pole bean from Italy is among the most productive beans I've grown. It is normally considered a snap bean, but would work nicely as a dry bean.

I'll let someone else post others that are highly productive. You can always plant pintos from the store.

Has anyone here tried either Tiger's Eye, Cranberry or Flambo drying beans? Territorial carries Tiger's Eye and Flambo, while I can get Cranberry locally. They're all open pollinated and I'm curious how productive they might be.

Based on only one trial, Tiger Eye produced a low yield.

Same here, I didn't have much luck with tiger's eye. Last year I bought some white half-runner beans from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange and was very impressed. Yields were very good and the flavor was excellent. Handled the heat too. (sold as a snap bean but much better as a shell bean)

My best yields has been out of Speckled Cranberry,Bingo,True Red Cranberry and Goose
All of which are pole types
I have never had much luck with the bush types as they tend to rot in wet weather

I've also gotten good productivity from Speckled Cranberry, altho' if the season in Minnesota is a little shorter than usual, they might not have time to mature to dry bean stage. Fortunately, they make good snap and shelly beans as well.
