You can cut down the peas (not pull) leaving the roots in the ground. Then you can plant your winter brassicas over them or maybe fall brassicas if your climate doesn't allow winter growing.

I just replaced the peas with dill, lettuce, more peas, fennel, beans, and some annual flowers. It still may be too hot for lettuce in WV, though. You can also plant radishes and chard.

Plant Peas again ,or beans , for fall. I have done it and the second round is sprouting.
