Pole beans counter clock-wise

I have noticed that my pole beans always go around the pole in a counter clock-wise direction (viewed from the top looking down). I've planted two different varieties and it never fails. I even tried to force them to go in the clock-wise direction but they would have none of it!! I live in the northern hemisphere and I wonder whether they go clock-wise in the southern hemisphere.
