Hi

I bought 8 lucky bamboos recently and I wanted to grow some in water and some in soil. I read that before putting them in to soil, I should get them to root by putting them in to water. So I cut all of the stalks at 4 inches above the root level and placed the 4inch stalks in water with some plant food and the longer stalks in to a different container with water. I cut the stalks at an angle as I read this was the best way to cut them if I wanted them to root.

However, none of the stalks are growing. The shorter ones seem to be getting yellow and are quite dry. How do I get them to root as I am worried that they will all wither and die.

I am using mineral water and have kept them out of direct sunlight.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
