I'm guessing that you live in a warm climate? Most likely the beans in your photo are sword beans (Canavalia gladiata. The plants are rampant climbing vines, with fragrant flowers & very large seeds that closely resemble favas in appearance. If you search, you will find several threads on sword bean in this forum.

I grew sword beans here once, but they require a long season to produce dry seed... hence my guess as to you climate. It's important to note that the mature seeds are reported to be toxic, so I wouldn't recommend eating them without further research.

Zeedman, kind of you to respond. Yep, after following your link, it is definitely Canavalia Gladiata. And sorry, yes I am in South Louisiana, Zone 8. The plant was a little sluggish growing until the temperatures ran up into the 90's in July and now it is strongly climbing. Reminds me a bit of our famous Kudzo here. Again, thanks for the help.
